Scripture Union Daily Guide 26 October 2025 Outline

God threw hard questions at Job; He wanted Job to know that there are mysteries in creation. The existence and the survival of wild animals remain a mystery, with scientists trying their best to unravel some of the wonders of God. Job 39:1-4 centre on when the female deer gives birth. Veterinary Science, especially Wildlife Science is a whole department seeking to understand the environment of the wild animals. Job 39:5-8 focus on the swift wild donkey. It ransacks the plains and the mountains seeking food.

Job 39:9-12 show how limited the human ability is. While the domestic cow bows under the control of its owner, an attempt to control the wild ox or the buffalo will be a complete failure. The commentary on the ostrich is interesting (Job 39:13-18). External beauty does not imply internal well-being. The ostrich is careless about its eggs and its young. Do some humans also sometimes show this kind of behaviour? If yes, cite examples of such behaviours. However, while this bird is lacking in wisdom, it does not lack speed to escape from its enemies (Job 39:18). What do we learn from this? This also is a wonder of God.

All things bright and beautiful

Refrain
1. All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

2. Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

3. The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

4. The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

5. The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

6. The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

7. He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Closing Prayer
Oh God, You are great and wonderful. I put my trust in You completely.
